Round Robin Scheduler
Every team meets every other team. Keep rounds and court slots clear.
Set up
Labels stay in this page’s memory. The tool makes no network requests and saves nothing in browser storage. Closing or reloading can lose your work.
Label and ID rules
IDs T01, T02 and so on follow input order. They stay the same when you change courts or cycle. Inserting, deleting or reordering teams changes position-based IDs.
Duplicate checking ignores case, repeated whitespace and Unicode compatibility differences. Original label text is retained after trimming. Malformed Unicode and selected hidden controls are rejected. Some look-alike letters still differ, so review labels before sharing.

Team ID key
CSV uses UTF-8 with a BOM and includes separate bye rows. Labels starting with =, +, - or @, including compatibility variants or after invisible formatting characters, receive a leading apostrophe to reduce spreadsheet formula risk. Spreadsheet apps can handle this differently; import as text and review before use. JSON retains the original trimmed labels. Downloaded and printed schedules contain your labels.
Round Robin Scheduler · Sequence slots are an order, not clock times. Add breaks and check availability before using this schedule.
How this schedule works
The circle method
One position stays fixed while the other positions rotate. Opposite positions are paired each round. An odd team count adds one empty position, making one explicit bye per round and one bye per team in each cycle.
With n teams, a single cycle has n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches: n − 1 rounds for even n, or n rounds for odd n. A double cycle repeats the pairings with home and away reversed.
Rounds are different from slots
A round is a complete set of pairings: each team plays at most once, or has a bye. A slot is one group that can play at the same time on the available courts. All slots in a round finish before the next round starts.
“Slot in round” restarts at 1 each round. “Sequence slot” counts through the whole schedule. Extra courts can remain empty. Waiting for a later slot is not a bye.
What you still need to plan
No dates, start times, match lengths, travel, breaks or availability constraints are assigned. Slot order is deterministic; it does not optimize rest, court rotation or home/away streaks. A team may play in adjacent slots across a round boundary.
Home and away are labels, not venue bookings. This is a general pairing tool, not a certified league or chess tournament manager. Check your competition’s rules before use.
